About Dino Run

Dino Run is an endless runner inspired by the famous offline dinosaur game — the one that appears in Chrome when your internet drops. You control a little dinosaur sprinting across an endless landscape. Press jump to leap over cacti and duck to slide under flying birds. There's no finish line: the game just keeps going and keeps speeding up, so the only goal is to survive as long as possible and rack up the highest distance score you can. One button to learn, impossible to master.

This version is free, runs in your browser on phone or desktop, has a day-and-night cycle, saves your best score, and is unblocked at school. No signup, no download, no need to disconnect your wifi.

How to Play

  • Press Space, Up arrow, or tap the top of the screen to jump.
  • Hold the Down arrow or touch the lower half to duck.
  • Jump over cacti. Duck under the low-flying birds.
  • The longer you survive, the faster everything gets.
  • One hit ends the run. Beat your best distance.

Tips for a High Score

  • Jump late, not early. Leaping the moment you see a cactus often means you land right on the next one. Time your jump so you clear the obstacle and land in the gap.
  • Don't hold jump. Short, deliberate taps. Floaty over-jumps leave you in the air when a bird arrives.
  • Watch bird height. High birds you can run straight under, mid birds need a duck, low ones need a jump. Read the height before you react.
  • Settle into a rhythm. At top speed the game is about pattern recognition, not reflexes. Stay calm and let the obstacles come to you.
  • Recover your position. After a duck, stand back up quickly so you're ready to jump the next cactus.

Where Dino Run Comes From

The original "Chrome dino" — officially called the T-Rex Runner — was added to the Google Chrome browser in 2014 as a hidden game that shows up on the "no internet" error page. Press space when you're offline and the dinosaur starts running. It became a cultural icon, played billions of times by people waiting for their connection to come back. Dino Run captures that same one-button, ever-faster thrill without needing you to actually go offline.

FAQ

How do you play Dino Run?

Press space, the up arrow, or tap to make the dinosaur jump over cacti, and hold down to duck under birds. The game speeds up the longer you survive, and your distance is your score. One hit ends the run.

Is Dino Run free?

Yes, completely free. No signup, no payment, no download. It runs in any modern browser on phone, tablet or desktop, and your best score saves automatically.

Is this the Chrome dinosaur game?

It is inspired by the famous Chrome offline dinosaur game (officially the T-Rex Runner). This version plays the same way — jump the cacti, duck the birds, survive as long as you can — but you can play it any time in your browser without going offline.

How do you duck in Dino Run?

Hold the down arrow on desktop, or touch and hold the lower half of the screen on mobile. Ducking lowers the dinosaur so it slides under the low-flying birds. Let go to stand back up.

Does Dino Run get harder?

Yes. The running speed increases continuously the longer you last, and the obstacles come faster and closer together. The day-and-night cycle is just for looks — the real challenge is the ever-climbing speed.

Is Dino Run unblocked at school?

Yes. It runs entirely in your browser with no plugins or downloads, so it plays on school Chromebooks, work computers and any device with a modern browser.
