About Don’t Let Her In

Don’t Let Her In is a short body horror game dressed in the look of an old handheld: a monochrome, Game Boy style screen, chunky pixel art and very little color to hide behind. Its creators describe it simply as a story about being alone, and that is exactly where it puts you. You play a child left by yourself at home after your father vanishes, with nothing from him but a note telling you not to let her in.

Time passes. Food runs low. Something scratches and whispers at the windows. The longer you stay alone, the harder it becomes to tell whether "her" is a memory, a person, or something else entirely. The choices you make, such as whether to eat or go hungry, and whether to follow your father's warning or ignore it, steer you toward a slow and deeply uncomfortable change.

The Don’t Let Her In game is minimal by design. It gives you a small space, a few decisions and a lot of silence, then lets dread do the rest. If you like compact, lo-fi horror that sticks with you after a single sitting, this is a strong pick.

How to Play Don’t Let Her In

  • Use the keyboard to play. On PC, the Z key works as the A button and confirms actions.
  • Follow the on-screen prompts to move through the house and interact.
  • Read your father's note and pay attention to what it tells you.
  • Make decisions as they come up: eat or starve, obey or defy.
  • Listen to the audio cues and radio static. Sound signals what is going on around you.
  • Watch how your choices change you as the weeks go by.

What Makes Don’t Let Her In Scary

Isolation is the engine. A child alone in a house, waiting for a parent who is not coming back, is frightening before anything supernatural happens. Don’t Let Her In leans into that vulnerability, then adds hunger, a closed door and a presence outside that will not go away. The monochrome visuals strip the world down so far that small changes feel huge.

The horror is quiet and physical rather than loud. There are no cheap shocks; instead, the game builds a sense of decay that creeps inward, turning the question of who is outside into a question about what is happening to you. Contains body horror, including worms, decay and disturbing transformation.

Tips for Don’t Let Her In

  • Play with sound on. Static and small audio cues carry a lot of the storytelling.
  • Think before each choice. Decisions about food and the door shape how the story unfolds.
  • Play it in one sitting. The game is short and the atmosphere builds best without breaks.
  • Keep your hand near Z. It is the button you will use to confirm almost everything.
  • If body horror bothers you, go in knowing it gets grotesque in places.

Who Made Don’t Let Her In

Don’t Let Her In was made by flower studio, with story and programming by flower and art and sound by hemlocks. It is released on itch.io as a short, Game Boy inspired horror piece, and FunClicker embeds the creator's own browser build rather than a copy. We did not make the game and take no credit for it. FAQ

Is Don’t Let Her In free?

Yes. Don’t Let Her In is free to play in your browser here, with no account and no download. The version on this page is flower studio's own web build from itch.io. If you enjoy it, the studio's itch.io page, linked in the article above, is the best place to follow their work.

How scary is Don’t Let Her In?

It is quietly disturbing rather than loud. Don’t Let Her In builds dread through isolation, hunger, silence and a presence outside the house, then pushes into body horror with worms, decay and grotesque transformation. There are no cheap shocks, but the imagery can be hard to shake, especially for players sensitive to body horror.

How long is Don’t Let Her In?

It is a short game. Descriptions of the full experience put it at roughly 15 to 20 minutes, which makes it easy to finish in one sitting. That brevity works in its favor: the atmosphere stays tight from start to finish, and the choices you make along the way carry real weight.

Who made Don’t Let Her In?

Don’t Let Her In was made by flower studio. flower handled the story and programming, while hemlocks created the art and sound. The game is published on itch.io, and FunClicker embeds the studio's own browser build. We did not make the game; we host the page so it is easy to find and play.

Can I play Don’t Let Her In on mobile or a Chromebook?

A Chromebook with a keyboard should work well, since the game runs in the browser and uses keys such as Z to confirm. Phones and tablets are a poor fit, because the game expects keyboard input and does not promise touch controls. For the smoothest experience, play on a computer with sound on.

Is Don’t Let Her In unblocked at school?

It often is, if your network allows this site. Don’t Let Her In runs in a browser tab with no installer, plugin or login. Whether a school or library filter lets it through is outside our control. Keep in mind it contains body horror that some people nearby may not want to see.

Does Don’t Let Her In have jump scares?

Not in the usual sense. Don’t Let Her In avoids flashy sudden scares and instead relies on oppressive atmosphere, unsettling sounds and gradual body horror. The fear builds slowly as you make choices alone in the house. Some audio moments may still make you flinch, so keep the volume at a comfortable level.

Do choices matter in Don’t Let Her In?

Yes. Don’t Let Her In asks you to make decisions such as whether to eat or starve and whether to obey your father's warning or defy it. Those choices shape the direction of the story and how far your transformation goes, so it is worth thinking about each one rather than clicking through.
