About Idle Badger

Idle Badger is a point-and-click incremental game about a badger with big ambitions. You click, you earn, and you work toward becoming the best badger there's by collecting every badge.

The badge pun is the joke, and the loop around it's the usual incremental one: small clicks turn into steady income, and that income buys more of what makes you faster. The game also promises free money, which is the sort of promise that keeps you clicking.

It was made in 48 hours for Ludum Dare 58, so it's small and focused. You can play Idle Badger online right here with nothing to install, and Idle Badger free of any download makes it an easy one to leave open in a tab.

How to Play Idle Badger

  • Click with the mouse, which is the only control.
  • Click the tools and items on screen to earn money.
  • Spend what you earn on upgrades that make you earn faster.
  • Keep going until you have every badge.

What to Expect in Idle Badger

Expect a short, silly clicker, not an endless spreadsheet. Everything runs on the mouse, so you can play it with one hand while you do something else.

If you like incremental games where numbers climb and the next purchase is always in sight, Idle Badger delivers that loop. If you want depth and a long campaign, remember that it came out of a 48-hour jam.

Tips for Idle Badger

  • Start with small purchases. They add up quickly early on.
  • Check what you can afford after every few clicks, not every click.
  • Leave the tab open now and then. It's an idle game, so some of the progress happens while you wait.
  • Keep an eye on the badges. They're the real goal, and money is how you get there.
  • If a browser acts up, try Chrome or Firefox, which are the ones it was tested in.

Who Made Idle Badger

Idle Badger was made by lectvs and released on itch.io. It's built with pixi.js, with art in Aseprite, sound effects made in sfxr and Audacity, and music in FL Studio. FunClicker embeds the creator's own version so you can play it here without downloading anything. We did not make the game, and the credit for its design, code, and art belongs to its creator. You can find the original on the Idle Badger page on itch.io.

What is the goal in Idle Badger?

Become the best badger ever by collecting all the badges. Idle Badger is an incremental game, so you earn money, spend it on upgrades and keep climbing until you have the full set of badges.

Who made Idle Badger?

lectvs is the creator of Idle Badger. We play the original itch.io build here and credit it on this page.

Can I play Idle Badger on a Chromebook or phone?

What jam was Idle Badger made for?

Ludum Dare 58, a game jam where you build something in 48 hours. Idle Badger was made in that time, which explains its small size and its single clear idea about clicking your way to badges.
