About Anomaly Guard

Anomaly Guard is a first-person survival horror game that puts you on the night shift at an abandoned school in Malaysia. You have accepted a last-minute security job at Seri Gading School paying 650 dollars a night, which is exactly the kind of offer that should have made you suspicious. From midnight until 6 AM, your job is to watch the cameras and report anything that should not be there.

At its core this is observation horror. Nine cameras cover the school, from the dorm and the canteen to the surau, the school's prayer room. Learn what each room normally looks like, then catch the moment something changes: furniture that has shifted, a light that flickers, a figure that was not there a minute ago. Report it correctly and it clears. Miss it and your sanity pays.

What sets this Anomaly Guard game apart is that you are not bolted to the chair. The power keeps failing, so you have to get up, walk into the dark, and fix the breaker yourself while ghosts from Malaysian folklore close in. You can play Anomaly Guard online here for free, in your browser.

How to Play Anomaly Guard

  • Watch the nine CCTV feeds and memorize each room's normal layout. Right-click to zoom in on a camera.
  • When something changes, open the REPORT menu and choose the right type: Object Displacement, Intruder / Entity, Light / Door / Tech, or Unknown.
  • Press G to get up from the desk and move around the security room and the area just outside.
  • When the power cuts out, go to the breaker box, press F for your flashlight in the breaker room, and beat the timing minigame.
  • If something gets into the security room, hide under the desk or in a locker with E, then balance your breathing with A and D so you stay silent.
  • Press C to drink coffee for a small sanity boost, and P to pause.
  • When a grinning figure taps on the window, stare at it until it backs away.

What Makes Anomaly Guard Scary

Anomaly Guard stacks several kinds of fear on top of one another. The camera work is quiet, careful dread: you stare at still rooms until your eyes start inventing movement. Then the power drops, and the game forces you out of your booth into dark corridors, rain, and thunder. When something finally comes for you, hiding becomes a test of nerve, with your own breathing as the thing most likely to give you away.

The cast is what makes it memorable. Instead of generic ghosts, Anomaly Guard draws on Malaysian legends, including the Pocong, the Pontianak, the Toyol, the Hantu Galah, the Penanggalan, and the Orang Minyak. A VHS filter with scanlines and noise, positional audio, and constant whispers complete the mood. Low sanity brings hallucinated heartbeats and footsteps, and if it runs out entirely, the run ends in a jump scare. Contains blood, gruesome folklore creatures, and jump scares.

Tips for Anomaly Guard

  • Spend your first minutes studying every camera. You cannot spot a change in a room you never learned.
  • Report quickly but accurately. Delays and misses both drain your sanity.
  • Save the coffee for when your sanity is genuinely low. The supply is limited.
  • Be skeptical of heartbeats and footsteps when your sanity is low. Some of them are not real.
  • Get to the breaker fast when the power fails, then hurry back to the cameras.
  • Wear headphones. Positional audio can tell you where a threat is coming from.

Who Made Anomaly Guard

Anomaly Guard was created by Syahmi1709 and released on itch.io as a browser game. The developer describes it as a blend of psychological horror, observation duty, and simulation, set in an abandoned Malaysian school and built around local folklore. FunClicker embeds the creator's own browser build, unchanged, so this Anomaly Guard horror game plays exactly as it was published. Find more from the developer at Syahmi1709 on itch.io.

FAQ

Is Anomaly Guard free?

Yes. Anomaly Guard is free to play in your browser on this page. There is no download, no account, and nothing to buy. Load the game and your shift at Seri Gading School starts right away. Because it is a 3D game with a keyboard-heavy control scheme, a computer gives you the best experience.

How scary is Anomaly Guard?

Very, if you enjoy observation horror. Anomaly Guard mixes tense camera watching with trips into dark hallways, hiding from entities that break into your room, and a sanity system that makes you hear things that are not there. Its ghosts come from Malaysian folklore, and some of them are gruesome. It also has jump scares.

How do you play Anomaly Guard?

Watch nine security cameras from midnight to 6 AM and report anything unusual through the REPORT menu, choosing the right anomaly type. Right-click zooms a camera, G gets you up from the desk, F is the flashlight in the breaker room, C drinks coffee, and P pauses. When hiding, balance your breathing with A and D.

Who made Anomaly Guard?

Anomaly Guard was made by Syahmi1709, an independent developer who published it on itch.io as a browser game. It is set in an abandoned Malaysian school and features ghosts from Malaysian legends. FunClicker embeds the creator's own browser build and did not make the game. All credit for it belongs to Syahmi1709.

Can I play Anomaly Guard on mobile or Chromebook?

A Chromebook with a keyboard and mouse can run it, as long as it handles a 3D browser game comfortably. Phones and tablets are not a good fit. Anomaly Guard relies on keys such as G, F, C, E, A, and D, plus right-click to zoom, so you really need a physical keyboard and a mouse.

Is Anomaly Guard unblocked at school?

Anomaly Guard runs in a standard browser tab without plugins or installs, so it avoids the usual technical blocks. Whether your school or work network allows this site depends on its filter, which we do not control. Be aware that it contains jump scares, blood, and frightening creatures, and that sound matters a lot.

Does Anomaly Guard have jump scares?

Yes. If your sanity drops to nothing, Anomaly Guard ends the run with a jump scare, and entities that break into the security room can arrive suddenly. Low sanity also brings fake footsteps and heartbeats designed to rattle you. If jump scares bother you, keep your sanity up and your volume at a comfortable level.

What anomalies can appear in Anomaly Guard?

Anomaly Guard sorts them into four types. Object Displacement covers moving furniture, floating items, and changing paintings. Intruder or Entity covers ghosts, moving shadows, and faces. Light, Door, or Tech covers flickering lights, slamming doors, and computers switching on. Unknown covers things like blood, strange symbols, and fog.
