About Tenebrosa Aranea

Tenebrosa Aranea is a short, sound-based horror game about a burglary that should have been easy. Your former friend has just been killed in a planned assassination, and you have slipped into his empty house to take what he valued most: the money locked away in safes scattered through its rooms. The house is not as empty as it looks. Something with the shape and movement of a spider is wandering from room to room.

The rules are simple and cruel. The creature is always on the move, so before you open any door you need to stop and listen for what might be behind it. Guess wrong and the run is over, sending you back to start collecting all over again. Every safe you crack is a small victory and a new risk, because staying in one place too long is how you get caught.

The Tenebrosa Aranea game plays in first person with simple low-poly visuals, dim lighting and a lot of empty space. The creator puts a full run at roughly 10 to 15 minutes, and there are two endings to find, which makes it an ideal first-person horror game for a single tense evening.

How to Play Tenebrosa Aranea

  • Explore the house in first person using your keyboard and mouse, following the on-screen prompts.
  • Stop at each door and listen for a few seconds before opening it.
  • If you hear the creature behind a door, go somewhere else.
  • Find and open the safes hidden around the house.
  • Pick up the money inside each safe before you leave the room.
  • Collect enough money and get out safely to reach an ending.
  • Watch for codes that appear during a run. They matter for the second ending.

What Makes Tenebrosa Aranea Scary

Tenebrosa Aranea turns the most ordinary actions into gambles. Opening a door, standing still to listen, crouching over a safe: each one could be the moment the creature finds you. Because you rarely get a clear look at the thing stalking the house, your imagination fills in the gaps. You know it is there from the sounds behind doors and from doors that open and close on their own.

The game leans on silence and audio rather than relying on constant jump scares. The pressure comes from having to commit to a choice with incomplete information, again and again, while the money you have collected hangs on every decision. Contains a murder premise and a spider-like creature, which may bother players with arachnophobia.

Tips for Tenebrosa Aranea

  • Always listen before you open a door, even when you are in a hurry.
  • After opening a safe, remember to grab the money before you move on.
  • Write down any code you see. Codes change randomly between runs, so memorizing an old one will not help.
  • If the creature keeps turning up in one area, leave it and explore another part of the house.
  • Play with headphones. Hearing where the creature is makes all the difference.

FAQ

Is Tenebrosa Aranea free?

Yes. Tenebrosa Aranea is free to play in your browser here, with no account and no download. The version on this page is hadigaming's own web build from itch.io. The creator welcomes donations and support on the game's itch.io page if you enjoy it and want to back future projects.

How scary is Tenebrosa Aranea?

It is very tense for a short game. Tenebrosa Aranea has you robbing a dead man's house while a spider-like creature roams the rooms, and you must listen at every door before opening it. The fear comes from sound, silence and the risk of losing your progress. Players with arachnophobia may find it especially unsettling.

How long is Tenebrosa Aranea?

The creator says a playthrough takes roughly 10 to 15 minutes. That is enough time to learn the house, crack the safes and reach an ending. Because there are two endings, and the codes needed for one of them change between runs, you may want to play it more than once.

Who made Tenebrosa Aranea?

Tenebrosa Aranea was made by hadigaming, an independent developer who released it on itch.io. FunClicker embeds hadigaming's own browser build without changes. We did not create the game; we host the page around it so it is easy to find and play free online.

Can I play Tenebrosa Aranea on mobile or a Chromebook?

A Chromebook with a keyboard and mouse is the better option. Tenebrosa Aranea is a first-person browser game, and the creator does not promise touch controls, so a phone or tablet may load it but make movement and interaction difficult. Headphones are strongly recommended on any device, since sound is central to the gameplay.

Is Tenebrosa Aranea unblocked at school?

It often is, if your network allows this site. Tenebrosa Aranea needs only a browser tab, with no installer, plugin or login. Whether a school or library filter lets it through is outside our control. Because you need to hear the creature behind doors, headphones are close to essential.

Does Tenebrosa Aranea have jump scares?

Tenebrosa Aranea does not depend on constant jump scares. Its tension comes from listening at doors, guessing where the creature is and deciding when to move. Getting caught can still be a jolt, so keep your volume comfortable, but most of the fear comes from anticipation rather than sudden shocks.

How do you get both endings in Tenebrosa Aranea?

One ending comes from collecting enough money and escaping the house safely. The other requires paying close attention to the codes that appear while you explore and using them correctly to open a hidden part of the house. The codes change randomly between runs, so note them down each time rather than memorizing.
