About Detonation Sequence

Detonation Sequence is a top-down puzzle game in the Sokoban family. You play a demolition expert sent to clear a site packed with explosives, but you only get one bomb you can set off. Everything else has to go up in a chain.

So the job on every level is to work out how the explosives link together. You can only move in the direction you're facing, which makes positioning a puzzle of its own. It's made in PuzzleScript, with an 8-bit look, and it takes inspiration from Charlie Blast's Territory and Bomber Island.

You can play Detonation Sequence online in your browser with nothing to install, and Detonation Sequence free covers every level. The controls fit on a short list, which makes this Sokoban puzzle game easy to start.

How to Play Detonation Sequence

  • Move with WASD or the arrow keys. A press turns you or moves you, and you can only step in the direction you're facing.
  • Press X to activate your bomb.
  • Press X to hop over boxes and explosives as well.
  • Press Z to undo a move and R to restart the level.
  • Plan a route so every explosive links up in one sequence before you set off the bomb.

What to Expect in Detonation Sequence

This is a puzzle about cause and effect. The single bomb is the whole idea, and each level asks you to read the layout and spot how the explosives could connect.

The facing rule changes how you think. On a grid, moving anywhere sounds easy, but here you turn first and move after, and that creates small traps for yourself. Undo on Z is what keeps it fun instead of frustrating.

The PuzzleScript engine gives it a clean look and a quick feel. There's nothing to read or manage beyond the board, and a bad attempt is over in seconds. If you like block-and-grid logic puzzles but want a louder theme, this one has it.

Tips for Detonation Sequence

  • Use Z freely. Undo lets you test an idea without losing your place.
  • Remember that you walk where you face, so think about where each step leaves you.
  • Look for a way to line the explosives up before you plan where the bomb goes.
  • Use the jump when a box or an explosive blocks a direct path.
  • Press R when a level goes wrong in a way undo cannot fix.

FAQ

Is Detonation Sequence free?

Yes. Detonation Sequence is free to play here, with nothing to buy and nothing to install.

How do you play Detonation Sequence?

Move with WASD or the arrow keys, and you can only move in the direction you face. X activates the bomb or jumps over boxes and explosives. Z undoes a move and R restarts the level.

What is the goal in Detonation Sequence?

You're a demolition expert with a single bomb you can activate. To clear a level, you have to arrange things so every explosive goes off in a connected sequence after that one bomb. Planning matters far more than speed.

Is Detonation Sequence a Sokoban game?

Yes, it plays on a top-down grid, and you plan your moves ahead and think about where each object ends up, the way you would in a classic Sokoban game.

Who made Detonation Sequence?

Boolean made Detonation Sequence and released it on itch.io. What you're playing here is that original build.

Can I play Detonation Sequence on a Chromebook or phone?

A keyboard is needed, since the controls use WASD or the arrow keys plus X, Z and R. A laptop or Chromebook works well. A phone is a poor fit because there are no touch controls to replace those keys.

Is Detonation Sequence unblocked at school?

Detonation Sequence unblocked works anywhere this page can open. It needs no download, but school networks run their own filters, so we cannot promise it will load.

How long does Detonation Sequence take?

A single attempt is over in seconds, so it's easy to try an idea, undo it and try another. How long a whole session lasts depends on how stubborn the later levels are. Undo and restart are one key each, which keeps it moving.
