About Sort the Court!

Sort the Court! is a cute kingdom simulation where you rule by answering yes or no to whoever walks in. Every answer shifts your people, your happiness and your gold, and the requests keep getting stranger. It came out of Ludum Dare 34, made in Unity by a team of three: Graeme Borland wrote the code, amymja drew the art and bogdan_rybak composed the music.

A visit takes a few minutes, and the style is friendly and colorful. An updated version exists for phones and other languages, and this embedded build is the original. The downloadable version may not work on newer systems, so the browser is the easy way to try it.

You can play Sort the Court! online here with nothing to install, and Sort the Court! free is exactly the price. It's a small simulation game, so expect a short, charming sitting rather than a long campaign.

How to Play Sort the Court!

  • Click inside the game window first so it takes your input.
  • Try the mouse and the keyboard and follow what the game shows you.
  • Follow the instructions at the start of the game.
  • Play for a few minutes to see what it has to offer.

What to Expect in Sort the Court!

Sort the Court! is a jam game, so it's small and focused. The art is cute, the split of work between code, art and music shows in how the pieces fit together, and the game is quick to understand.

Ludum Dare entries force a team to pick one idea and finish it, and this one keeps that spirit. You sit down, work out what the job is, and get on with it. If you like quick, cute games from the jam scene, it's an easy one to try.

Tips for Sort the Court!

  • Start with the instructions the game gives you.
  • Keep sessions short. It's built for a few minutes at a time.
  • Click inside the game window if the controls do not respond.
  • Look for the updated version if you want to play on a phone.

Who Made Sort the Court!

You can find the original on the Sort the Court! page on itch.io.
