About Dank Tomb

Dank Tomb is a top-down puzzle adventure set in a dim, ancient tomb. You walk its corridors, solve puzzles and hunt for the seven golden idols hidden inside.

Piece by piece, you uncover the story of an ancient king who went mad. It's a Metroidvania, so expect to return to earlier rooms once you can reach more of them. The look is atmospheric pixel art, and the tomb feels moody rather than scary.

A full run takes about half an hour. It's a PICO-8 game, so the screen is small and the palette is limited, and you can play Dank Tomb online right in this tab. Dank Tomb free to try here means you can walk in and see whether the mood suits you.

How to Play Dank Tomb

  • Use the arrow keys to walk around the tomb.
  • Press Z or C to jump.
  • Press X or V to interact with things and use items.
  • Press Escape to open the menu. That's also where you can delete your progress.
  • Explore and solve puzzles to find the seven golden idols.

What to Expect in Dank Tomb

The corridors are dimly lit, and the pace is slow and curious rather than frantic. You spend most of your time working out how rooms connect and what an item is for.

The game remembers where you left off, so you can step away and come back. If you like top-down adventures that fit into a tiny package, Dank Tomb fits. If you want fast action, look elsewhere.

Tips for Dank Tomb

  • Check every dead end. In a game about hidden idols, the corner you skipped is usually the one that mattered.
  • Try X or V on anything that looks usable. Interacting is how most puzzles open up.
  • Come back to earlier rooms when you gain something new, since old doors mean more later.
  • Keep a mental map. Corridors look alike in the dark.
  • Use delete progress in the Escape menu only when you want a fully clean start.

Who Made Dank Tomb

Dank Tomb was made by Jakub Wasilewski and released on itch.io. It's a PICO-8 game, so everything runs inside that console's small screen and limited colors. FunClicker embeds the creator's own version so you can play it here without downloading anything. We did not make the game, and the credit for its design, code, and art belongs to its creator. You can find the original on the Dank Tomb page on itch.io.

FAQ

Is Dank Tomb free?

Yes. Dank Tomb is free to play here, with nothing to buy and nothing to install.

How do you play Dank Tomb?

Use the arrow keys to walk, Z or C to jump and X or V to interact or use items. Escape opens the menu. Click inside the game window first so it takes your keys, then start poking around the tomb.

What is the goal in Dank Tomb?

Find the seven golden idols hidden in the tomb. Along the way you solve puzzles and learn about the ancient king who went mad, and Dank Tomb rewards you for looking into every corner of every room. It's a slow, curious hunt rather than a race.

Who made Dank Tomb?

Dank Tomb was made by Jakub Wasilewski. We embed the original itch.io build, and there's a link back to it on this page.

Can I play Dank Tomb on a Chromebook or phone?

You need a keyboard for the arrow keys plus Z, X, C and V, so a Chromebook or laptop is the right fit. A phone has none of those keys, which makes Dank Tomb awkward on a touch screen.

Is Dank Tomb unblocked at school?

Try it and see. Dank Tomb unblocked loads in the browser with nothing to install, but each school sets its own filters.

How long is Dank Tomb?

A full run takes about half an hour. If a puzzle has you stuck it can take longer, but Dank Tomb saves your progress, so you can leave the tomb and pick up later without losing what you found.

Does Dank Tomb save my progress?

Yes. Dank Tomb keeps your progress between visits, so you can stop whenever you like. The Escape menu has a delete progress option for a fresh start. Use that only when you want to wipe everything you have done.
