About Six-Sided Streets

Six-Sided Streets is a small hex-based city builder where you build a pleasant little town three hexes at a time. You're handed a piece, turn it to fit, and drop it on the map.

The whole game is a clicking and turning exercise. Click to place a piece, and rotate the next piece with the on-screen buttons, the arrow keys, the A and D keys, or the mouse wheel. It's a tidy puzzle of where each piece goes, and the fun is in making the streets and blocks line up.

It took a month to make for a community game jam, with board games like My City, Tiny Islands and Cascadia in mind. You can play Six-Sided Streets online in your browser, and Six-Sided Streets free of any download is a quiet way to fill a few minutes.

How to Play Six-Sided Streets

  • Look at the piece you have been given.
  • Rotate it with the on-screen buttons, the arrow keys, A and D, or the mouse wheel.
  • Click to place the piece on the map.
  • Keep placing pieces to grow your town.

What to Expect in Six-Sided Streets

The pace is calm, and there's no clock. You think about where a piece fits, turn it, and place it. The game is about neat arrangement, and a town that feels tidy is its own reward.

If you like hex tile games and small city puzzles, it fits well. If you want action or a big sandbox, it's smaller than that. It was made in a month, and it keeps its scope tight.

Tips for Six-Sided Streets

  • Rotate before you place. The right angle often opens up a better spot.
  • Think about where your next few pieces might go, and not only this one.
  • Use the mouse wheel to spin a piece fast, or A and D if you prefer the keyboard.
  • Leave room to grow instead of boxing yourself in.
  • Take your time. The game never rushes you.
