About Solitomb

Solitomb is a PICO-8 dungeon crawler where the combat is solitaire. You're an adventurer who made a pact with a demon, and the demon wants a small favor: clear this monster-infested dungeon. Using your solitaire skills, you build combos to defeat the monsters inside.

Treasure you find goes toward a set of abilities that work together, and you have two things to manage: your own resources and the demon's patience. It's a turn-based roguelike with deck-building, wrapped in a fantasy dungeon.

You can play Solitomb online in a browser tab. A run takes about half an hour, and the in-game how to play button gives you a step-by-step guide.

How to Play Solitomb

  • Click the how to play button in the game for a quick guide before your first run.
  • Use your solitaire skills to build combos and defeat the monsters.
  • Collect the treasure you find and spend it on abilities that work together.
  • Keep an eye on your resources and the demon's patience as you go.
  • Finish a run, then start another with a different plan.

What to Expect in Solitomb

Expect a card game with dungeon-crawler bones. Solitaire is the engine, and the roguelike structure means every run is a fresh attempt. The tone is dry and playful, built around the story of a deal with a demon that's clearly a bad idea.

The pixel art is retro, with the limited look that PICO-8 titles are known for. Turn-based play means you can think as long as you like, so planning is the skill that matters.

Solitomb free in the browser suits fans of deck builders and solitaire puzzles. Once you have the hang of the basics, a half-hour run gives you plenty to think about.

Tips for Solitomb

  • Read the how to play guide first. It saves you a failed run.
  • Spend treasure on abilities that work together, not on one-off tricks.
  • Watch the demon's patience as closely as your own resources.
  • Plan a few moves ahead. Solitaire rewards that kind of thinking.
  • After a bad run, change one thing and try again.

FAQ

Is Solitomb free?

It's free. Solitomb loads right here in your browser, so there's nothing to download.

How do you play Solitomb?

Click the how to play button in the game for a quick step-by-step guide. Use your solitaire skills to build combos and defeat the dungeon's monsters, collect treasure and spend it on abilities. Keep an eye on the demon's patience too.

What is the goal of Solitomb?

Clear the monster-infested dungeon so the demon can break out of its supposedly eternal jail. You use solitaire combos to fight, spend treasure on abilities and manage your own resources and the demon's patience to survive.

Is Solitomb a roguelike?

Yes, it's a roguelike and a roguelite deck builder. Runs start fresh, and the choices you make during a run decide how far you get. Treasure buys abilities, so each attempt can come together differently.

Who made Solitomb?

Jakub Wasilewski is the creator of Solitomb. We play the original itch.io build here and credit it on this page.

Can I play Solitomb on a Chromebook or phone?

A Chromebook or laptop works well, since you click your way through a card game. A phone may work too, though the cards are small, so a larger screen is more comfortable for a PICO-8 game like this one.

Is Solitomb unblocked at school?

Solitomb unblocked works anywhere this page can open. It needs no download, but school networks run their own filters, so we cannot promise it will load.

Do I need to know solitaire to play Solitomb?

It helps, but the in-game how to play button gives you a quick step-by-step guide, so you can pick it up as you go. Solitaire is the engine that builds combos against the monsters, so a little knowledge goes a long way.
