About NEHONOBASA

NEHONOBASA is a bullet hell shooter that warns you up front it might be hard. You steer a character named Saba-chan through four stages and then a final boss, with the screen filling with bullets the whole way.

Your best tool is the bomb. Fire one into another bomb and the blast grows, wiping every bullet and enemy on screen. If you're carrying at least one bomb when you get hit, one goes off on its own and the hit does not count against you.

The in-game text is English with a few rough edges, and only the ending is in Japanese. You can play NEHONOBASA online in your browser, and it's NEHONOBASA free to play.

How to Play NEHONOBASA

  • Move with the arrow keys.
  • Hold Z to shoot. It also slows your movement, which helps in tight spots.
  • Hold C to shoot and move at a faster speed.
  • Press X to fire a bomb, and aim it into another bomb for a wider blast.
  • Keep at least one bomb in reserve, because it triggers on its own when you're hit.
  • Work through the four stages and face the final boss.

What to Expect in NEHONOBASA

Learning matters as much as reflexes here. The bullets come in patterns, and the first few runs are about spotting them. The two shooting speeds let you choose between precise movement and quick repositioning, and switching between them is the core skill.

The bomb rules reward a bit of cleverness. Chaining one bomb into another clears a crowded screen, and a spare bomb is your safety net. The invincibility a bomb gives lasts only a very short window, though, so do not treat it as a free pass.

Expect a challenge. This is a game for patient practice, where the satisfaction is watching your runs get further.

Tips for NEHONOBASA

  • Use Z to thread tight gaps and C to cross the screen.
  • Keep a bomb in reserve at all times, since it can save a mistake.
  • Chain a bomb into a bomb when the screen is packed.
  • Remember that a bomb's invincibility is short, so do not lean on it.
  • Take the first stage slowly and treat early deaths as practice for the later ones.

Who Made NEHONOBASA

NEHONOBASA was made by nizakashii and released on itch.io. It was made in GameMaker, and a Japanese readme comes with it. FunClicker embeds the creator's own version so you can play it here without downloading anything. We did not make the game, and the credit for its design, code, and art belongs to its creator. You can find the original on the NEHONOBASA page on itch.io.

FAQ

Is NEHONOBASA free?

It's free. NEHONOBASA loads right here in your browser, so there's nothing to download.

How do you play NEHONOBASA?

Move with the arrow keys, hold Z to shoot and move slowly, hold C to shoot and move fast, and press X to bomb. Shooting a bomb into a bomb enlarges the blast. A spare bomb also fires automatically if you're hit.

What is the goal in NEHONOBASA?

Beat all four stages and the final boss. It's a bullet hell shooter that might be hard, so the way through is surviving the patterns, using your bombs well, and learning each stage a little better on every run.

Who made NEHONOBASA?

That's nizakashii. NEHONOBASA came out on itch.io, and we link back to it from this page.

How do bombs work in NEHONOBASA?

Press X to fire a bomb. A bomb shot into another bomb makes the attack range larger and clears every bullet and enemy on screen. If you hold at least one bomb when you're hit, it fires automatically and the hit does not count against you.

Can I play NEHONOBASA on a Chromebook or phone?

The controls use the arrow keys plus Z, X and C, so a Chromebook or laptop with a keyboard is the best fit. A phone is unlikely to work well for a precise bullet hell like this one, since every control sits on a key.

Is NEHONOBASA unblocked at school?

It might be. NEHONOBASA unblocked needs only a browser tab, and whether that tab opens is up to your school's filter.

What language is NEHONOBASA in?

The game text is in English, though it was machine translated, so some wording may be rough, and only the ending is in Japanese. A Japanese readme is also available for players who would rather read the rules in Japanese.
