About Golf Sunday

Golf Sunday is a low-resolution golf game made for the PICO-8. It's a sunny day on the course, a bit of putting practice, and a ride in the golf cart.

On foot you walk and hit the ball. Climb into the cart and the controls change, so you steer and accelerate around the course. That gives the game two ways to play besides putting.

You can play Golf Sunday online for free in your browser. It's wholesome, tiny and gentle, with nothing violent in it.

How to Play Golf Sunday

  • Walk with the arrow keys.
  • Press the cross button to hit the ball.
  • Press the cross button near the cart to get in.
  • Press the up arrow or Z to accelerate, and steer with left and right.
  • Press the cross button to leave the cart.

What to Expect in Golf Sunday

Golf Sunday is gentle on purpose. Nothing chases you and nothing ends the game. You line up a putt, tap a button and enjoy the day, then take the cart for a spin because you can.

The tiny screen and limited palette give it a chunky retro charm. A sequel, Golf Monday, exists if you want more.

Tips for Golf Sunday

  • Take your time lining up each putt. There's no rush.
  • Try the cart early to get a feel for the steering.
  • Get out of the cart before you try to hit the ball.
  • Look around the course before your first shot.
  • If you like the feel, find Golf Monday next.

Who Made Golf Sunday

Golf Sunday was made by Johan Peitz and released on itch.io. Design, art and code by Johan Peitz. Music and sound by Chris Donnelly. Made with PICO-8 and Aseprite for LOWREZJAM. FunClicker embeds the creator's own version so you can play it here without downloading anything. We did not make the game, and the credit for its design, code, and art belongs to its creator. You can find the original on the Golf Sunday page on itch.io.

FAQ

Is Golf Sunday free?

Yes. You can play Golf Sunday in your browser for free, and there's no account to make.

How do you play Golf Sunday?

Walk with the arrow keys and hit the ball with the cross button. To drive, enter the cart with the cross button, accelerate with the up arrow or Z, steer with left and right, and leave with the cross button again.

What is the goal in Golf Sunday?

Enjoy a sunny day at the golf course. You improve your putting and take the cart for a spin. It's a relaxed game with no combat and no timer to worry about, so you play at your own pace.

Who made Golf Sunday?

Golf Sunday comes from Johan Peitz, who published it on itch.io. We embed that build and link to the original.

Is there a sequel to Golf Sunday?

Yes. It's called Golf Monday. Golf Sunday works fine on its own, so you do not need to play them in any order. Try this one first if you want the original, gentler day out.

Can I play Golf Sunday on a Chromebook or phone?

You need a keyboard, because the game uses the arrow keys, Z and the cross button. A Chromebook or laptop works. A phone has no arrow keys, so a touchscreen is not a good fit.

Is Golf Sunday unblocked at school?

Golf Sunday unblocked works anywhere this page can open. It needs no download, but school networks run their own filters, so we cannot promise it will load.

What is PICO-8, and why does Golf Sunday look so small?

PICO-8 is a fantasy console with a tiny screen and a limited palette. Golf Sunday was made for it and entered in LOWREZJAM, a jam for very low resolutions, which is why it looks so chunky and retro.
