About Gravity Golf

Gravity Golf is a minimalist golf game with no clubs. You change which way gravity pulls instead, and use that to get where you're going. Think VVVVVV crossed with Putt-Putt Golf.

One input does everything: click, or press Space, and gravity flips. What you control falls the other way, and you steer through each stage by timing your flips.

You can play Gravity Golf online for free in your browser. It was built in 48 hours for a game jam, and the source is open.

How to Play Gravity Golf

  • Click or press Space to flip gravity.
  • Watch which way you fall after each flip.
  • Time your flips to move toward the goal.
  • Retry a stage as soon as a flip goes wrong.

What to Expect in Gravity Golf

Gravity Golf starts from one question: what if golf had only gravity? It builds a short game around the answer. Timing is the skill, because when you flip decides where you land.

The look is simple and retro, and the game is short. With a single input, anyone can pick it up in seconds, and the mastery comes from reading how each flip changes your path.

Tips for Gravity Golf

  • Flip in an open spot first to see how things move.
  • Think one flip ahead. Where will you be when you land?
  • Use the surroundings to slow or redirect your fall.
  • Do not mash the button. One well-timed flip is often enough.
  • Retry quickly after a miss. Stages are short.

Who Made Gravity Golf

Gravity Golf was made by Harmony Monroe and released on itch.io. Made in Unity by Harmony Monroe for the GMTK Game Jam. The code is open source on GitHub. FunClicker embeds the creator's own version so you can play it here without downloading anything. We did not make the game, and the credit for its design, code, and art belongs to its creator. You can find the original on the Gravity Golf page on itch.io.

FAQ

Is Gravity Golf free?

Yes, Gravity Golf costs nothing. It runs on this page, so you can start right away.

How do you play Gravity Golf?

Click the mouse or press Space to change your gravity. That's the only input there's. There are no clubs, so you steer entirely by flipping which way you fall and timing it to reach the goal.

What is the goal in Gravity Golf?

Reach the goal of each stage, as in golf, which is where the name comes from. The twist is that you cannot hit anything at all. You flip gravity with a click or Space, and your timing decides where you end up.

Who made Gravity Golf?

Harmony Monroe is the creator of Gravity Golf. We play the original itch.io build here and credit it on this page.

Is Gravity Golf open source?

Yes. The code is on GitHub, so you can read how a gravity-flip golf game is put together. It's a small Unity project with a tight scope, which makes it a nice one for developers to study.

Can I play Gravity Golf on a Chromebook or phone?

Yes. The input is a click or the Space key, so a mouse, trackpad or keyboard works. A touchscreen tap may count as a click too, so try it on your device. The game only ever needs the one input.

Is Gravity Golf unblocked at school?

It might be. Gravity Golf unblocked needs only a browser tab, and whether that tab opens is up to your school's filter.

Was Gravity Golf made for a game jam?

Yes. It was built in 48 hours for the GMTK Game Jam. That explains the tight scope: one input, a short game and a minimalist look built around a single idea, with nothing extra to get in your way.
