About VLB

VLB is a volleyball game inspired by slime volleyball, with a twist: each team has three players, and one person controls all of them. Juggling three characters at once is the main joke and the main challenge.

There are two modes, training and tournament. Training lets you learn how to coordinate your trio, and the tournament gives you a reason to use it. Two people can also play head to head on one keyboard, with separate keys for each team.

You can play VLB online for free in your browser. The soundtrack is chiptune.

How to Play VLB

  • Team one: V is the left player, B the middle, and N or L the right.
  • Team two: Left arrow, Up or Down, and Right arrow.
  • Left click works in most menus.
  • Press Escape to leave a room.
  • Pick training to practice, or tournament to compete.

What to Expect in VLB

VLB is a game of coordination. Each key controls a separate player, so your fingers do a lot of the work. Early matches are messy, and that's part of the fun, because you improve by learning which finger goes with which player.

Matches are very quick, so it's easy to pick up for one more round. The look is chunky and retro, in keeping with the slime volleyball family.

Tips for VLB

  • Start in training mode to learn the three-player layout.
  • Learn each team's keys before you play a friend.
  • Work out which of your players should take each ball.
  • Rest your fingers on the keys so you can switch quickly.
  • Play a few rounds before you judge how hard it's.

FAQ

Is VLB free?

Yes. Play VLB as often as you like at no cost.

How do you play VLB?

Team one uses V, B, and N or L for the left, middle and right players. Team two uses the Left arrow, Up or Down, and the Right arrow. Left click works in menus, Escape leaves a room, and F4 goes fullscreen on Windows.

What modes does VLB have?

There's a training mode and a tournament mode. Training is for practice and getting used to controlling three players at once, with no pressure. Tournament mode is for competition against opponents, once your fingers know the layout.

Who made VLB?

VLB is by Adrien Dittrick. It was first released on itch.io, and this page plays that same build.

Can two people play VLB?

Yes. It's a local multiplayer versus game, and each team has its own keys, so two people can share a keyboard and play head to head. Check the in-game menus for the exact options and set up a match.

Can I play VLB on a Chromebook or phone?

You need a keyboard, because the game uses V, B, N, L and the arrow keys. A Chromebook or laptop works. A phone is not a good fit for a game with this many keys. Note that F4 for fullscreen works only on Windows.

Is VLB unblocked at school?

VLB unblocked works anywhere this page can open. It needs no download, but school networks run their own filters, so we cannot promise it will load.

Is VLB like slime volleyball?

Yes, it's inspired by slime volleyball. The main difference is that you control three characters at the same time, which turns a simple idea into a coordination puzzle that's hard to master and funny to watch.
