About snow!
snow! is a downhill skiing game made for PICO-8, and it's built around one honest fact: there's no finish line, so you'll lose. The question is how long you can last.
You go down the slope in 3D, grabbing coins and performing tricks for extra time while you watch out for hazards off the track. Beating your previous record is the point, and freeriding is allowed. It came out of the PICO-8 Advent Calendar, a winter set of small games.
There are tracks of different difficulty, so you can pick how hard to make it. You can play snow! online in your browser, and snow! free of any download turns into a quick race against your own best time.
How to Play snow!
- Press Left and Right to steer.
- Press C to jump, and hold it to charge a bigger jump.
- Press X to restart if you get stuck.
- Grab coins and perform tricks to earn extra time.
- Pick a track: blue is easy, red is moderate and black is hard.
What to Expect in snow!
It's a short, fast game with a score you chase. Time is your resource, coins and tricks add to it, and sooner or later it runs out. Every run teaches you where the risks are.
The red and black tracks have side routes, and the harder ones push you toward tricks. If you like tiny arcade games where you try to beat yourself, it fits well. The 3D look is chunky and works at PICO-8 scale.

- Start on the blue track to learn the jump and steering.
- Hold C a little longer when you need more height.
- Grab coins when they're on your line, but do not swerve for every one.
- Practice tricks on the red track. Black rewards them more.
